ABOUT PONCIE

Poncie Rutsch is a freelance audio producer and editor based in the Washington, D.C. area. Her specialties include new show development, audio production and editing, and project management. She is available for consulting and editing stories and audio series.

Most recently, Poncie worked at Pushkin Industries and Transmitter Media as a senior producer, where she served as lead producer on two shows for TED: Body Stuff and Good Sport. Previously, she headed the podcast department at WAMU, where she developed and launched What’s With Washington, Dish City, Unprecedented, Dating While Gray and Through The Cracks.

Poncie’s stories have aired on Living on Earth, The Pulse, Distillations, and many NPR stations. She also created, hosted and produced her own independent podcast, Babes of Science, investigating women who changed the trajectory of science and why it’s taken us so long to recognize their work.

When she isn’t working on audio, Poncie can be found in Rock Creek Park with her dog Howie. She’s also an avid crafter, reader and gardener.
