Poncie Rutsch is a radio producer based in the Washington, D.C. area. Her work has aired on Living on Earth, The Pulse, Distillations, and many NPR stations. She produces a podcast called Babes of Science about women's history in science, tech, health, engineering and math. You should probably subscribe to get a taste of ladies in STEM every other week.
Poncie grew up in D.C, then spent her college years studying biology in California, her graduate school years studying journalism in Boston, and a bit of post-grad life in Japan. She's written about health, environment, and engineering, physics, and science history. Her favorite stories are the ones where some facet of science has a big impact on the characters she follows.
In her free time she skates roller derby, plays the viola, or cooks with her brother.
